Pacely is open

Plan your day with an energy budget.

Pacing at your own tempo, for people with post-covid or ME/CFS. You spread your energy across the day, keep an eye on your pace, and look back in the evening without judgement.

Works in any browser. Install it as an app on your phone, or just use it online.

Pacely's today screen: a greeting, your day's budget in points, a calm pacing chart showing the day so far, and planned activities below.

Designed for calm

What Pacely doesn't do is half the design.

For every little screen we asked ourselves whether it adds calm or takes some away. These are the three rules that shape Pacely.

Budget, not points

Thinking in energy, not in scores.

Your day has a small budget. Activities have a weight. No XP, no levels, just room to pace.

Gentle, never sharp

Flagging without attacking.

Is a day over budget? Pacely says “something to consider”, not “error”. The tone is beside you, not above you.

No streaks, no guilt

Missing is fine. So is tomorrow.

You are not scored. No badges, no red lines. Just a quiet observation of what fits and what can wait.

What you get with Pacely

First, see what works.

Two screens where the patterns show themselves, the line across weeks and the shape of a single day. And two screens that carry your day: a list that knows your routine, and an agenda with gentle time blocks. Kept deliberately small, four screens that together make one calm system.

Pacely time chart showing a 30-day overview: a dot for each day, coloured by feeling, with triangles for days that went over the budget and red edges for days with one heavy activity, around a green pacing zone on a baseline of 180.
Time

Patterns in your pacing.

A calm chart gathers your days into dots around your baseline. Each dot takes the colour of how you felt that day; its shape and edge flag the days that ran tighter. So you watch the pattern form, before a crash does the work for you.

  • Colour follows the feeling. Each dot takes the colour of how you felt that day, from your moments, or from a value you set yourself.

  • Shape points to the days that stand out. A triangle for a day that went over your budget, a red edge for one activity that was already heavy on its own.

  • Tap through to the day. Tap a dot to see that day in detail, points, feeling, and whatever asked for attention.

Pacely moments screen with the feels chart at the top, a coloured activity bar below it, and a timeline of check-ins and journal notes (Very good, Heavy) beneath that.
Patterns

See what works for you.

Pacely draws patterns out of what you share, busy weeks, poor nights, better mornings, no score, no judgement. The input stays light: a short check-in, a line of journal. The value is in the picture that grows from it.

  • The feeling of the day. A line of dots follows your feeling hour by hour, with a coloured bar for your activities below it.

  • Short check-ins, three taps and done. Eight gentle questions about energy, sleep, clarity, stimulation and more, filling in one is already enough.

  • Patterns that grow with you. The more often you share, the more sharply the charts show what your day really costs.

Activities

Build your own list.

Activities that keep coming back, groceries, coffee, lying down with your eyes closed, get their weight and duration. The better your list, the sharper Pacely's picture of what your day really costs.

  • Set it once. Give an activity a name, intensity and default duration. Ready for any day.

  • Find it by name. The search field at the top filters your list straight away, no scrolling.

  • Editing stays safe. Change the default without changing any of your earlier days.

Pacely agenda with time blocks: green rest blocks (Bed rest −20pt) between orange activities (Making lunch, Groceries, Driving).
Agenda

Your day in time blocks.

Drag activities onto their moment. The colour follows the intensity, green for rest, orange for full, so at a glance you can see whether the day breathes or runs tight.

  • Five intensities. Deep rest and rest give points back; light, medium and heavy cost points.

  • Drag and rearrange. Move a block with no dialog or confirmation, Pacely quietly adjusts your day.

  • The whole week in view. Step through the days with the arrows to see what is coming.

How it works

One daily rhythm. Three calm moments.

Pacely doesn't ask for your whole day, just three short moments where you look ahead, adjust, and read back. Enough to give direction, little enough to stay out of the way.

  1. 01

    Morning: set a small budget.

A few points for the day, just enough to get through, with room left over for whatever comes up.

  2. 02

During the day: plan and adjust.

Drag activities into your schedule, use your saved list for what comes back often, and feel free to shift things around.

  3. 03

    Evening: a short look back.

One check-in or journal note is enough. Pacely quietly keeps it with you, no grade, no judgement, just rhythm.

Frequently asked questions

Questions that come up more often.

A few things people ask us regularly, about the price and about how Pacely works.

How do I install the app?

Pacely is a web app, so you do not need an app store. Tap 'Open Pacely' and you arrive at the login screen. There, and on every other screen, you will find a button to install Pacely. Once installed, Pacely simply sits among your other apps and behaves like one: you open it with a single tap, and it keeps working even when you have no internet for a while.

I cannot get the app to install.

Usually that happens because you are opening Pacely in a browser inside another app, such as the built-in browser of Facebook, Instagram or LinkedIn. Those cannot install apps. Open Pacely in a regular browser, such as Chrome, Safari, Edge or Firefox, and go directly to pacely.nl there. Then you can install Pacely. If you use an iPhone, choose Safari, that is where installing works on iOS.

How do I decide how heavy an activity is?

You decide that yourself, by feel. There is no formula and no measuring stick: how heavy something is differs per person, and sometimes even per day. What is light for one person costs another a lot. When you add a new activity we give a few examples for comparison, but your own judgement is what counts.

How do I decide my first daily budget?

It is best to do this together with an occupational therapist, who can look with you at what is feasible. If you do not have one yet, start with an ordinary, average day: fill in what you do on such a day and take that as your starting point. It is a starting point, not a final verdict, and a practitioner can look at it together with you later.

Do I have to fill in everything myself?

Yes, Pacely works with what you fill in. You create your activities yourself and put them in your calendar, because it is your day and you know best what it looks like. You can also record how you feel. Nothing runs automatically in the background: Pacely looks at your own experience of how heavy something was, not at numbers from a tracker.

Is there a connection with my sports watch or other health trackers?

Not yet. We might support that one day, but Pacely will always start from your own experience. We are not a health-tracking platform: we look at the person first and how you are doing, not at the data from a device.

What extra do I get with Pacely Pro?

Planning your day in blocks with activities is and stays free, for everyone. Pacely Pro adds the visualisations: the charts and overviews that show what works for you, plus the connection with your practitioner. We ask a fee for that, so that we can work without ads and without trackers and your data stays private. You can also ask your practitioner to join Pacely, they may be able to cover the subscription for you.

Why is the price different in the app store?

Apple and Google charge a commission on every payment in their app stores. That surcharge is built into the price you see in the app. If you pay through this website, that extra step falls away and you pay the lower rate. It is the same Pacely Pro, just without the store taking its margin in between.

How do I switch to paying via the web?

First cancel your in-app subscription via the App Store or Google Play. Your Pro stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for. As soon as you see in the app that Pro has expired, come back to this website and take out a subscription here. That way you avoid paying twice.

My trial period is over, but I did not use it. Can I start again?

You can. The easiest way is to delete your account via account settings and then create a new account. If that sounds too complicated, send an email to mail@pacely.nl and we will help you further.

Why did you make Pacely?

Pacely started at home. My wife became ill, and only after a long time came the diagnosis, and with it what could help her: pacing. With her condition, building up is not recovery but a relapse, pacing is the opposite: spreading your energy instead of using it all up, and doing just as much as your body can handle without the price afterwards. She looked for something that would help with that, but found only step counters, apps that reward you for more, and paper lists. Nothing that showed what she had left on a busy Tuesday, or that said: this looks like too much. So I built it myself, first for her, now for others too.
